Process for Open Space Preservation
The process for the preservation of open space will have several steps and is meant to involve various town boards and the general public.
First, the North Hampton Forever subcommittee will verify a candidate property meets the requirements for preservation and that preservation of the property is in the best interest of the town.
Second, if the candidate property is suitable and desirable, the subcommittee will recommend the candidate property to the North Hampton Conservation Commission.
Third, the Conservation Commission will hold a public meeting and review the recommendation of the North Hampton Forever sub committee.
Fourth, if the Conservation Committee agrees with the North Hampton Forever sub committee, the property will be recommended to the Board of Selectman.
Fifth, at a public meeting the Selectman will review the property and the recommendations of the North Hampton Forever sub committee and the Conservation Commission.
Sixth, if the Selectman agree with the recommendations, the Selectman will authorize the preservation of the open space.
